Siddha Kunjika Stotram (सिद्ध कुंजिका स्तोत्र) is a Hindu prayer recited before reading Chandi Path/Durga Saptashati. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is given in Durga Saptashati. It is particularly popular in North India.
Meaning of the Words “Siddha Kunjika Stotram”:
Siddha means perfected, Kunjika means key, and Stotram means a devotional song. Therefore, Siddha Kunjika Stotram means “The song that unlocks the key to perfection.” It is read before Durga Saptashati to unlock its power. It is believed that if someone reads Saptashati without reading Siddha Kunjika, then he/she would not get the full benefits of it. Therefore, it is a key to unlock the power of Saptashati.
Origin:
The Stotram is mentioned in Durga Saptashati. It was told and explained by Lord Shiva to Goddess Parvati. Durga Saptashati is found in Markandeya Purana.
Who Wrote Siddha Kunjika Stotram?
Sage Markandeya wrote Markandeya Purana. Hence, we can say that he is the composer of Siddha Kunjika Stotram. But originally it was told by Lord Shiva to Goddess Parvati. Hence, the original composer is Lord Shiva.
Siddha Kunjika Stotram in Hindi with Meaning:
शिव उवाच
(शिव जी बोले)
शृणु देवि प्रवक्ष्यामि कुंजिकास्तोत्रमुत्तमम्।
येन मन्त्रप्रभावेण चण्डीजाप: भवेत्।।1।।
(हे देवी पार्वती सुनो! अब मैं अत्यंत उत्तम सिद्ध कुंजिका स्तोत्र का उपदेश करूंगा जिसके मात्र जाप (पाठ) से ही देवी की उपासना सफल हो जाती है।)
न कवचं नार्गलास्तोत्रं कीलकं न रहस्यकम्।
न सूक्तं नापि ध्यानं च न न्यासो न च वार्चनम्।।2।।
(अगर कोई भी केवल इस स्त्रोत का पाठ करे तो उसे किसी भी कवच, अर्गला, कीलक, रहस्य, सूक्त, ध्यान, न्यास आदि तथा अन्य किसी भी प्रकार का पूजन अर्चन की भी आवश्यकता नहीं है।)
कुंजिकापाठमात्रेण दुर्गापाठफलं लभेत्।
अति गुह्यतरं देवि देवानामपि दुर्लभम्।।3।।
(केवल सिद्ध कुंजिका स्तोत्र के पाठ से ही हर तरह के दुर्गापाठ (दुर्गा सप्तशती के पाठ) का फल प्राप्त हो जाता है। यह सिद्ध कुंजिका स्तोत्र अत्यंत गुप्त और देवताओं के लिए भी दुर्लभ है।)
गोपनीयं प्रयत्नेन स्वयोनिरिव पार्वति।
मारणं मोहनं वश्यं स्तम्भनोच्चाटनादिकम्।
पाठमात्रेण संसिद्ध् येत् कुंजिकास्तोत्रमुत्तमम्।।4।।
(हे देवी पार्वती!
इस स्त्रोत को स्वयोनि की भांति ही प्रयत्नपूर्वक गुप्त रखना चाहिए। इस उत्तम सिद्ध कुंजिका स्तोत्र के केवल पाठ मात्र से ही मारण, मोहन, वशीकरण, स्तंभन एवं उच्चाटन आदि सभी प्रकार के अभिचारिक उद्देश्यों की पूर्ति हो जाती है ।)
अथ मंत्र:
ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे। ॐ ग्लौ हुं क्लीं जूं स:
ज्वालय ज्वालय ज्वल ज्वल प्रज्वल प्रज्वल
ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे ज्वल हं सं लं क्षं फट् स्वाहा।
(ऊपर लिखे बीज मंत्रों का अर्थ जानना आवश्यक नहीं है और मुश्किल भी है। इनका उच्चारण ही काफी है।)

नमस्ते रूद्ररूपिण्यै नमस्ते मधुमर्दिनि ।
नमः कैटभहारिण्यै नमस्ते महिषार्दिनि ॥1॥
हे रुद्ररूपिणी ! तुम्हें कोटि कोटि नमस्कार है। हे मधु दैत्य को मारने वाली ! तुम्हें नमस्कार है। हे कैटभ दैत्य का विनाश करने वाली ! तुम्हें शत शत नमस्कार है। महिषासुर को मारने वाली देवी तुम्हें नमस्कार है।
नमस्ते शुम्भहन्त्र्यै च निशुम्भासुरघातिनि ।
जाग्रतं हि महादेवि जपं सिद्धं कुरूष्व मे ॥2॥
शुम्भ का हनन करने वाली तथा निशुम्भ को मारने वाली देवी! तुम्हें कोटि कोटि नमस्कार है। हे महादेवी! मेरे द्वारा किये जाने वाले इस जप को जाग्रत तथा सिद्ध करो।
ऐंकारी सृष्टिरूपायै ह्रींकारी प्रतिपालिका ।
क्लींकारी कामरूपिण्यै बीजरूपे नमोऽस्तु ते ॥3॥
“ऐंकार” के रूप में सृष्टि स्वरूपिणी, “ह्रीं” के रूप में सृष्टि का पालन करने वाली माता | “क्लीं” के रूप में कामरूपिणी देवी जो की सम्पूर्ण ब्रम्हांड की बीजरूपिणी देवी हैं! तुम्हें कोटि-कोटि नमस्कार है।
चामुण्डा चण्डघाती च यैकारी वरदायिनी ।
विच्चे चाभयदा नित्यं नमस्ते मन्त्ररूपिणि ॥4॥
“चामुंडा” के रूप में चन्डों का नाश करने वाली देवी एवं “यैकार” के रूप में तुम वरदान देने वाली देवी हो तथा “विच्चे” रूप में तुम नित्य ही अभय प्रदान करने वाली हो | इस प्रकार तुम (ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे) इस मंत्र का ही स्वरूप हो।
धां धीं धूं धूर्जटेः पत्नी वां वीं वूं वागधीश्वरी ।
क्रां क्रीं क्रूं कालिका देवि शां शीं शूं मे शुभं कुरु ॥5॥
“धां धीं धूं” के रूप में हे देवी तुम धूर्जटे अर्थात शिव की पत्नी हो। “वां वीं वूं” के रूप में हे देवी आप वाणी की देवी हो। “क्रां क्रीं क्रूं” के स्वरूप में तुम ही माँ काली हो और “शां शीं शूं” के रूप में हे देवी आप मेरा कल्याण करो।
हुं हुं हुंकाररूपिण्यै जं जं जं जम्भनादिनी ।
भ्रां भ्रीं भ्रूं भैरवी भद्रे भवान्यै ते नमो नमः ॥6॥
आप “हुं हुं हुंकार” का स्वरूप हो। “जं जं जं” के रूप में “जम्भनादिनी” भी आप ही हो। “भ्रां भ्रीं भ्रूं” के रूप में हे देवी आप सभी का कल्याण करने वाली भैरवी भवानी हो | आपको कोटि कोटि प्रणाम है।
अं कं चं टं तं पं यं शं वीं दुं ऐं वीं हं क्षं ।
धिजाग्रं धिजाग्रं त्रोटय त्रोटय दीप्तं कुरु कुरु स्वाहा ॥7॥
“अं कं चं टं तं पं यं शं वीं दुं ऐं वीं हं क्षं धिजाग्रं धिजाग्रं” हे देवी इन सभी को आप तोड़ो और प्रकाशित करो, स्वाहा!
पां पीं पूं पार्वती पूर्णा खां खीं खूं खेचरी तथा ।
सां सीं सूं सप्तशती देव्या मन्त्रसिद्धिं कुरुष्व मे ॥8॥
“पां पीं पूं” के रूप में आप हे देवी आप पूर्णता प्रदान करने वाली पार्वती माँ हो। “खां खीं खूं” के स्वरूप में आप आकाश में गमन करने वाली खेचरी हो। “सां सीं सूं” के रूप में हे देवी आप सप्तशती के मंत्रों की सिद्धि मुझे प्रदान करो।
इदं तु कुञ्जिकास्तोत्रंमन्त्रजागर्तिहेतवे ।
अभक्ते नैव दातव्यंगोपितं रक्ष पार्वति ॥9॥
यह सिद्ध कुंजिका स्तोत्र, मंत्र को जाग्रत करने के लिए है। जो भी भक्ति से हीन है, ऐसे पुरुष को इस मंत्र का ज्ञान नहीं प्रदान करना चाहिए। हे पार्वती! ऐसे भक्तिहीनों से इस मंत्र को गुप्त रखो।
यस्तु कुञ्जिकाया देविहीनां सप्तशतीं पठेत् ।
न तस्य जायतेसिद्धिररण्ये रोदनं यथा ॥10॥
हे पार्वती ! जो व्यक्ति बिना सिद्ध कुंजिका स्तोत्र का पाठ किये दुर्गा सप्तशती का पाठ करता है। उसे ठीक उसी प्रकार कोई भी सिद्धि प्राप्त नहीं होती जिस प्रकार किसी का वन में रोना फलहीन होता है क्योंकि वहां उसकी आवाज़ कोई नहीं सुनता।
इतिश्रीरुद्रयामले गौरीतंत्रे शिवपार्वती संवादे कुंजिकास्तोत्रं संपूर्णम्।

By recitation of which, the recitation of Devi Mahatmya (Chandi)
Would become more powerful/auspicious.)
Na kavacham naargalaastotram kiilakam na rahasyakam|
Na suuktam naapi dhyaanam cha na nyaaso na cha vaarchanam||2||
(There is no need to recite Kavacham, Argalam, Kilakam, and the Rahasya thrayam,
Nor is it necessary to recite Suktham, Dhyanam, Nyasam, and also no need to worship.)
Kumjikaapaathamaatrena durgaapaathaphalam labhet|
Ati guhyataram devi devaanaamapi durlabham||3||
(Just by reading Kunjika, we would get the effect of reading Chandi,
And Oh Goddess this is a great secret and even Devas do not know it.)
Gopaniiyam prayatnena svayoniriva paarvati|
Maaranam mohanam vashyam stambhanochchaatanaadikam|

(Oh Parvathi, you decide about the effort to keep it a secret
Because just by reading this great prayer on Kunjika, we can easily achieve,
Maranam (Murder), Mohanam (attraction), Vasyam (controlling others), making things motionless by repeated chants.)

You may read it only once also, but reading it in multiples of three is advised.
How to Recite:
1. Wake up at the time of sunrise and take a bath.
2. Sit before the photo or idol of Goddess Durga. It is advised to wear a red cloth but it is optional.
3. Put the book in front of you on a wooden stand.
4. First, offer your salutation to Goddess Durga and then start reading at a medium speed. The voice should not be too loud or too low.
5. Pronunciation should be correct, and no mistakes should be made. It is advised to learn to recite from a knowledgeable person.
