Ashtalakshmi Stotram

Ashtalakshmi Stotram is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and her eight forms. The eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi are Adi Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi, Dhairya Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Vijay Lakshmi, Vidya Lakshmi, and Dhana Lakshmi.

आदि लक्ष्मी:

सुमनस वन्दित सुन्दरि माधवि, चंद्र सहोदरि हेममये।

मुनिगणमंडित मोक्षप्रदायिनी, मंजुलभाषिणि वेदनुते ।।

पङ्कजवासिनि देवसुपूजित, सद्गुणवर्षिणि शान्तियुते ।

जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि आदिलक्ष्मि सदा पालय माम् ।।१।।

धान्य लक्ष्मी:

अहिकलि कल्मषनाशिनि कामिनि, वैदिकरूपिणि वेदमये ।

क्षीरसमुद्भव मङ्गलरुपिणि, मन्त्रनिवासिनि मन्त्रनुते ।।

मङ्गलदायिनि अम्बुजवासिनि, देवगणाश्रित पादयुते ।

जय जय हे मधुसूदनकामिनि, धान्यलक्ष्मि सदा पालय माम् ।।२।।

धैर्य लक्ष्मी:

जयवरवर्णिनी वैष्णवि भार्गवि, मन्त्रस्वरुपिणि मन्त्रमये ।

सुरगणपूजित शीघ्रफलप्रद, ज्ञानविकासिनि शास्त्रनुते ।।

भवभयहारिणि पापविमोचनि, साधुजनाश्रित पादयुते ।

जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, धैर्यलक्ष्मि सदा पालय माम् ।।३।।

गज लक्ष्मी:

जय जय दुर्गतिनाशिनि कामिनि, सर्वफलप्रद शास्त्रमये ।

रधगज तुरगपदाति समावृत, परिजनमंडित लोकनुते ।।

हरिहर ब्रम्ह सुपूजित सेवित, तापनिवारिणि पादयुते ।

जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, गजलक्ष्मि रूपेण पालय माम् ।।४।।

सन्तान लक्ष्मी:

अहिखग वाहिनी मोहिनि चक्रिणि, रागविवर्धिनि ज्ञानमये ।

गुणगणवारिधि लोकहितैषिणि, सप्तस्वर भूषित गाननुते ।।

सकल सुरासुर देवमुनीश्वर, मानववन्दित पादयुते ।

जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, सन्तानलक्ष्मि त्वं पालय माम् ।।५।।

विजय लक्ष्मी:

जय कमलासनि सद्गतिदायिनि, ज्ञानविकासिनि गानमये ।

अनुदिनमर्चित कुङ्कुमधूसर, भूषित वासित वाद्यनुते ।।

कनकधरास्तुति वैभव वन्दित, शङ्क रदेशिक मान्य पदे ।

जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, विजयलक्ष्मि सदा पालय माम् ।।६।।

विद्या लक्ष्मी:

प्रणत सुरेश्वरि भारति भार्गवि, शोकविनाशिनि रत्नमये ।

मणिमयभूषित कर्णविभूषण, शान्तिसमावृत हास्यमुखे ।।

नवनिधीदायिनी कलिमलहारिणि, कामित फलप्रद हस्तयुते ।

जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, विद्यालक्ष्मि सदा पालय माम् ।।७।।

धन लक्ष्मी:

धिमिधिमि धिन्धिमि धिन्धिमि-धिन्धिमी, दुन्धुभि नाद सुपूर्णमये ।

घुमघुम घुङ्घुम घुङ्घुम घुङ्घुम, शङ्खनिनाद सुवाद्यनुते ।।

वेदपुराणेतिहास सुपूजित, वैदिक मार्ग प्रदर्शयुते ।

जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, धनलक्ष्मी रूपेणा पालय माम् ।।८।।

फलश्रुति:

अष्टलक्ष्मी नमस्तुभ्यं वरदे कामरूपिणि।

विष्णुवक्षःस्थलारूढे भक्तमोक्षप्रदायिनी ।।

शङ्ख चक्र गदाहस्ते विश्वरूपिणिते जयः।

जगन्मात्रे च मोहिन्यै मङ्गलम शुभ मङ्गलम ।।

Adi Lakshmi:

Sumanasavandita Sundari Mādhavi Candrasahōdari Hēmamayē |

 Munigaṇamaṇḍita Mōkṣapradāyini Mañjulabhāṣiṇi Vēdanutē ||

 Paṅkajavāsini Dēvasupūjita Sadguṇavarṣiṇi Śāntiyutē |

 Jayajaya Hē Madhusūdanakāmini Ādilakṣmī Sadā Pālaya Mām || 1 ||

Meaning:

O beautiful one, worshiped by good people, the consort of Madhava, sister of the moon, O golden one.

You are worshiped by the sages, you bestow salvation, your speech is sweet, and you are extolled by the Vedas.

O lotus-dwelling one, worshiped by gods, you shower virtues, O peaceful one.

Victory to Goddess Adi Lakshmi, the consort of Madhusudana, please protect me.

Dhanya Lakshmi

Ahikalikalmaṣanāśini Kāmini Vaidikarūpiṇi Vēdamayē |

 Kṣīrasamudbhava Maṅgalarūpiṇi Mantranivāsini Mantranutē ||

 Maṅgaladāyini Ambujavāsini Dēvagaṇāśrita Pādayutē |

 Jayajaya Hē Madhusūdanakāmini Dhānyalakṣmī Sadā Pālaya Mām || 2 ||

Meaning:

O destroyer of the sins of Kali Yuga, you are blissful and embodiment of Vedas.

You are born from the ocean of milk and are auspicious. You inhabit the mantras and are worshiped by mantras.

O the bestower of auspiciousness, you reside in the lotus, gods take shelter at your feet.

Victory to the consort of Madhusudana, Goddess Dhanya Lakshmi, please protect me.

Dhairya Lakshmi

Jayavaravarṇini Vaiṣṇavi Bhārgavi Mantrasvarūpiṇi Mantramayē |

Suragaṇapūjita Śīghraphalaprada Jñānavikāsini Śāstranutē ||

Bhavabhayahāriṇi Pāpavimōcani Sādhujanāśrita Pādayutē |

Jayajaya Hē Madhusūdanakāmini Dhairyalakṣmī Sadā Pālaya Mām || 3 ||

Meaning:

The one who is present in a great form, the one belonging to Vishnu, the daughter of Sage Bhrigu, O the form of mantras and being the mantras herself.

Worshiped by the demigods, you are the quick-rewarding, developer of knowledge, who is praised by the scriptures.

O destroyer of fear of material existence, destroyer of sins, pious people take shelter at your feet.

Victory to the lover of Madhusūdana, Goddess Dhairya Lakshmi, please always protect me.

Gaja Lakshmi

Jaya Jaya Durgatināśini Kāmini Sarvaphalaprada Śāstramayē |

Rathagajaturagapadādisamāvr̥ta Parijanamaṇḍita Lōkanutē ||

Hariharabrahmasupūjitasēvita Tāpanivāriṇi Pādayutē |

Jayajaya Hē Madhusūdanakāmini Gajalakṣmī Rūpēṇa Pālaya Mām || 4 ||

Meaning:

Victory to the destroyer of misfortune, bestower of all wishes, you are shastras yourself.

You are surrounded by elephants, horses, chariots, and soldiers and are worshiped by people all over the world.

Lord Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma serve and worship you. You are the one with feet that can remove the anxiety of unfulfilled desires.

Victory to Gaja Lakshmi, the lover of Madhusūdana, protect me always.

Santana Lakshmi

Ahikhaga Vāhini Mōhini Cakriṇi Rāgavivardhini Jñānamayē |

Guṇagaṇavāridhi Lōkahitaiṣiṇi Svarasaptabhūṣita Gānanutē ||

Sakala Surāsura Dēvamunīśvara Mānavavandita Pādayutē |

Jayajaya Hē Madhusūdanakāmini Santānalakṣmī Tu Pālaya Mām || 5 ||

Meaning:

O the one who rides on a flying bird, the enchanting one, who holds the chakra in her hands, the one who increases the affection, the embodiment form of the knowledge.

O ocean of virtues, you seek the welfare of the world, and you are praised by the songs composed of seven notes.

All suras, asuras, gods, sages, and humans bow at your feet.

Vijaya Lakshmi

Jaya Kamalāsani Sadgatidāyini Jñānavikāsini Gānamayē |

Meaning:

Victory to the lotus-seated goddess, who is the giver of salvation and knowledge and who is the embodiment of music.

You are worshiped daily with kumkum and sweet fragrances, and decorated with clothing and jewelry, and praised with musical instruments.

Adi Shankaracharya praised and honored you in Kanakdhara Stuti.

Vidya Lakshmi

Praṇata Surēśvari Bhārati Bhārgavi Śōkavināśini Ratnamayē |

Meaning:

I bow to the goddess of the gods, Bharati, the daughter of Bhrigu, destroyer of sorrow, and adorned with jewels.

The one who has earrings of gems, whose smiling face is covered with peace.

O bestower of nine treasures, destroyer of the impurities of Kali, with hands that bestow the desired fruits.

Victory to Vidya Lakshmi (goddess of knowledge) the lover of Madhusoodana, please protect me.

Dhana Lakshmi

Dhimidhimi Dhindhimi Dhindhimi Dhindhimi Dundubhi Nāda Supūrṇamayē |

Ghumaghuma Ghuṅghuma Ghuṅghuma Ghuṅghuma Śaṅkhanināda Suvādyanutē ||

Vēdapurāṇētihāsa Supūjita Vaidikamārgapradarśayutē |

Jayajaya Hē Madhusūdanakāmini Dhanalakṣmī Rūpēṇa Pālaya Mām || 8 ||

Meaning:

You are surrounded by the sound of dhim dhimi coming from Dundubhi drums.

O Goddess, You are worshipped by the sound ghuma ghuma of a conch shell.

You show the Vedic path of tradition and are worshipped by Vedas, Puranas, and Itihasa.

Victory to Goddess Dhana Lakshmi (goddess of wealth), the lover of Madhusudana, please protect me.
